Review: L'Oreal Lash Millionaire

So continuing with my mascara run :)

Recently I bought the L'Oreal Volume Million Lashes Mascara.
The mascara has a "millionizer brush that gives extra volume lash by lash". You can see from the brush that it is quite large which is typical of a volumizing mascara. It is also one of those plastic brushes and it's quite flexible. I usually find that with plastic brushes it's a little bit scratchy on my eyes, I find that it's no different with this one. Also I'm not so sure that I am a fan of the flexible brushes, especially when it's quite large. I get a little messy with large brushes and tend to blop it on myself at least once. When brushes are flexible I find that this happens even more so. I'm just a little clumsy when it comes to mascara so if you're like me you may have a similar problem.

L'Oreal also says that the mascara has an anti-clump wiper to preventing clumping and wipe off the excess mascara. You can see that from my photos, especially the last one, that it is particularly good at lengthening my lashes and separating. However as you can see from the photos that it is a little bit lacking in the voluminous area. This is a little bit disappointing especially as this mascara is suppose to be about volume.

I will continue to use the mascara because you can see that it does make my eyelashes look really long. In terms, of the volumising it has been disappointing. I am going to wait and see how the formula is after a month.  However, if you are after instant volume for your lashes I wouldn't advise using this mascara.

YSL: Mascara Update

A month or two ago I did a haul in which I mentioned the YSL mascara volume effect faux cils in noir radical.
Although this mascara is a really nice for lengthening and I still stand by what I said in terms of making your eyelashes look nice and long.
There is a downside.
I find that the mascara bleeds underneath my eyes and there is even some transfer onto my brow bone. Giving a nice panda effect.
I began to avoid putting mascara on the lower lashes to see if it would help with the smudging. However, then I noticed that it was transferring onto my brow bone!
So I decided to wait and hope that the formula would dry out a little bit after a month or two.
This hasn't happened and it still transfers.

I think that because my eyes are a little deep set and my lashes are quite long (I guess!) that this may contribute to the transfer especially to my brow bone.
I find that I'm just constantly worrying about whether or not I have mascara all round my eyes when I wear this.
So unfortunately I have given up.
Let me know if you've noticed this too.
So now I'm on the hunt for a new mascara.
The L'Oreal Lash Millionaire is in my sights.

My Quest for Luscious Locks: Project Healthy Hair

Hello!
I'm back it's been awhile but I'm back in the bloggosphere and I'll get back to youtube tomorrow!
So that's the housekeeping out of the way.

So the growth of my hair has been the bane of my existence for the last year and a half.
For the last few years I have kept my hair quite short, with the length teetering at chin level.
Until I got sick of my short hair and wished for locks that even Rapunzel would envy.
For the last year however it feels like my hair has grown to a certain length and will not budge.
It just didn't seem to be getting longer.
On a trip to the hairdressers I asked my hairdresser what I could do. He told me that to fulfil my dream of luscious locks I would need to invest in a good quality shampoo and conditioner, and none of that stuff from the local supermarket.
For a month I have been using KMS california and I was quite impressed. However, on my recent trip to the hairdressers I discovered that they no longer stocked it and were stocking a new range of products. Qaba.

Qaba is a Melbourne based brand and is only available through selected salons. They are "100% pure & natural with 100% active ingredients and zero useless substances". The shampoo and conditioner are sulphate free. The hair range is universal, that is they do not manufacture different ranges for different hair types (e.g. dry hair, normal hair, etc, etc). So whatever your hair type is this product will work for you. They do however have a different shampoo and conditioner for blondes.

Among other things, what makes this product different is the oils. There are 11 essential oils to chose from and these oils are mixed in with your conditioner. The length of your hair will determine how much oil you use and it comes with an eye dropper. The oil that I have at the moment is 'Iliso' which is lemon. Other oils inlcude 'Yako' which is rosemary, geranium & bergamot, and 'Zola' which is lavender and lemon.

The products are not cheap but if it delivers in its promises of "extreme shine & lustre for healthier hair" and "encouraging hair growth" then I will be happy to pay.

I'll keep you posted in a few months to let you know how I get on.

For more info on the product just go to qaba.com.au
